Rep. Anthony Brown Suffers Minor Stroke After Kamenetz’s Funeral

May 15th, 2018 by WCBC Radio

Rep. Anthony Brown suffered a minor stroke Friday after attending late County Executive Kevin Kamenetz's funeral, Brown's spokesman said. WBAL reports Brown experienced a sudden onset of dizziness and nausea at home after the funeral and was taken by ambulance to the University of Maryland Prince George’s Hospital Center, Brown's spokesman, Matt Verghese, said.

Verghese said Brown was admitted for observation and treatment. A series of tests determined Brown had experienced a minor stroke, but had no deficits, Verghese said.

Brown was released from the hospital on Sunday and is expected to make a full recovery, Verghese said.

"The congressman is in good spirits, staying active and is recuperating at home. He spoke to his staff this afternoon, and is already eager to return to Washington," Verghese wrote in a statement to 11 News
