Residents Present List of Questions on Animal Control at Commissioners Meeting

September 24th, 2014 by WCBC Radio

With at least 3 different entities responsible in some respect for the health and welfare of animals in the county- its not surprising that some citizens are confused to how the organizational chain works and exactly who to get answers from or voice complaints too. During the most recent business meeting of the Allegany County Commissioners, Oldtown resident Scott Summers presented a list of questions he and others have had about the working of the local operations. Currently there is the  non-profit  Allegany County Animal Shelter Management Foundation- and  the Allegany County Animal Control Board- which both fall under the umbrella of county government.  Summers, who recently returned to Allegany County after some time away, said that he has run into road block after road block when trying to get any answers- including being kicked out of a social media site.
