Richard Douglas Running For U.S. Senate

To borrow a phrase made popular during the campaign of President Clinton- “it’s the economy stupid”. That was a familiar theme coming from republican Richard Douglas, a Navy veteran and former chief counsel of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, who is running for U.S. Senate in the Maryland Republican primary.  Job growth is Douglas’ priority and he doesn’t think the current administration in Washington, and U.S. Sen. Ben Cardin, are doing enough to bring new jobs to Maryland and the nation.  He tells WCBC News that neither of Maryland’s Senators- Cardin and Barbra Mikulski- have been aggressive in pursuing economic development opportunities for the state.
