On Saturday, Cumberland Police served an Arrest Warrant on Shawna Smith, age 24 of Ridgeley, WV.
The Warrant stemmed from a month long investigation into multiple thefts from a residence on Virginia Avenue. The investigation revealed that Smith over a course of time stole a large amount of jewelry from the victim. At the conclusion of the investigation, charges were applied for in District Court and an Arrest Warrant was issued for theft scheme $25K to under $100K.
Smith was served with the Warrant and taken to District Court for her Initial Appearance. She was then remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center on $5000 bond.
