Ritchie Updates Renovations with Tour of Footer Dye Works Building

Canal Place Preservation and Development Authority executive director Dee Dee Ritchie updated the board on the ongoing renovations to the Footer Dye Works building- and the members received a walking tour of the building.  The Footer building renovation will receive $1.15 million in state funding. Michael Joy Development, a Washington, D.C. based firm, and partners will manage a $9 million renovation of the four-story historic building. Plans include a restaurant and brewpub on the first floor with the possibility of retail shop space. The second floor will be offices with the remain floors having loft apartments.  Joy took members of the board on a tour of the building this week to give them a first hand upclose look at the improvements being made under the eye of construction manager Bruce Firlie. Ritchie said the project, which began in August, is moving along smoothly…
