Road Crews Preparing For Next Round Of Pre-Winter Weather

Road crews are getting ready for the next round of pre-winter weather with snow in the forecast for the next few days. Tuesday’s snowfall is not expected to be significant, however road crews, already taxed by the parade of storms, have been hitting the salt heavily.  Dave Buck of the SHA says there is plenty of salt on hand. The Maryland State Highway Administration starts the season out with about 325,000 tons of salt- and to date, .between 66,000 and probably 75,000 tons has been used.  Where there is more need, supplies can be moved from one part of the state to another.  Not surprisingly, last year and so far this year- western Maryland has been hit hardest…
