6:30 PM UPDATE: The Maryland State Highway Administration has opened Maryland Route 135 to one lane of traffic after a rock slide Saturday morning at Beryl Bridge.
The eastbound lane is clear, but the westbound lane remain blocked by debris, and may be for some time. Traffic is being allowed to pass in an alternating fashion, according to Allegany County 911.
Allegany County 911 tells WCBC News that Maryland Route 135 has been shutdown at the Beryl Bridge due to a rock slide.
Maryland State Highway crews have been notified.
The Beryl Bridge is located just inside the Allegany County line. The closure affects traveling west from Westernport and east from Garrett County.
11 AM UPDATE: Luke Mayor Ed Clemons Jr tells WCBC News State Highway Administration Crews are working on removing the rocks and debris from the roadway, and there is optimism the road could be reopened by mid afternoon.
11:30 AM UPDATE: The Maryland State Highway Administration has issued the following statement:
"The Maryland Department of Transportation's State Highway Administration (SHA) advises motorists that a section of MD 135 between WV Route 46 and Grant Street is temporarily closed.
