U.S. Senator to West Virginia Jay Rockefeller says he will not run for re-election next year. Rockefeller, who is 75 years of age, is in his fifth term in office and has commented this week that he will not seek another term- citing personal not political reasons. Republican Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito has been the only candidate to express interest in filling Rockefeller's seat.
