With a slots license expected to be award for Rocky Gap within a month, Robert Brennan is optimistic that the fortunes of the financially struggling resort can finally begin to turn around. Brennan is the executive director of The Maryland Economic Development Corporation- the quasi-governmental agency that owns the resort located inside Rocky Gap State Park. The bid ward comes down to a cooperative effort between two companies — Lakes Entertainment Inc., out of Minnesota, which already operates casinos, and Paragon Project Resources out of Irving, Texas; and a real estate company owned by former state Democratic Party Chairman Nathan Landow for 500 machines. Brennan says regardless of which group is awarded the license, it should provide a tremendous economic boost to the resort, and the region….
