Romney Approved For New Public Works Building

State Director Bobby Lewis announces that USDA Rural Development approved a Community Facilities Direct Loan of $998,700 for the City of Romney, Hampshire County, WV.    Rural Development funds will be used to construct a new Public Works Building for the City of Romney in the Indian Heights area.  The current Public Works Building is located adjacent to the City’s wastewater plant.  Relocation of the facility is needed to allow additional space for improvements and upgrades to the wastewater plant. Rural Development serves as the lead Federal entity for rural development needs and administers program assistance through its housing, business, community and infrastructure programs.  The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) prohibits discrimination in all its programs and activities on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, disability and where applicable, sex, marital status, familial status, parental status, religion, sexual orientation, genetic information, political beliefs, reprisal, or because all or part of an individual’s income is derived from any public assistance program
