On Monday at approximately 5:30AM, Allegany County Sheriff's Office responded to RT-135 near Tri-Town Plaza in Westernport for a reported motor vehicle crash. The investigation found that 32 year old Fred Murphy of Piedmont was heading east on Rt 135 when he failed to negotiate the curve. His 1999 Honda Civic left the roadway and overturned near the railroad tracks. Further investigation led to him being charged with driving an uninsured vehicle. He was released pending trial. Sheriff's Office was assisted on the scene by Potomac Fire Department. Mr. Murphy refused medical treatment.
