Safe Streets Initiative Continues To Make City And County Streets Safer

Twenty-eight fugitives were taken off the streets in last week’s arrest warrant initiative conducted by the Cumberland Police Department’s Safe Streets Program. Safe Streets Director David Goad says the goal continues to be making city and county streets safer through the reduction of backlogged arrest warrants. The Safe Streets Operation sought citizen help in locating and apprehending individuals on open arrest warrant. Goad described this as another successful operation conducted with officers from the Cumberland City Police Department and deputies from the Allegany County Sheriff’s Department, together with the warrant fugitive officers, who combined their resources to reduce the number of active arrest warrants in Allegany County.
