Salvation Army Seeking Donations for Kids’ Camp

The Salvation Army isn’t just about the Christmas holidays- it a year long program that provides services for families facing economic difficulties. Lt. Jim Dillingham with the Salvation Army in Cumberland is making a plea for area residents to donate toward an effort to send area children to summer camp. Located in Hedgesville, WV, Camp Tomahawk is an extension of the ongoing religious and social programs offered by The Salvation Army.  Its summer program provides residential camping programs for members of The Salvation Army youth programs as well as offering additional camping programs for underprivileged youth ages 7 – 12 from Maryland and West Virginia. Lt Dillingham tells WCBC News that each camper participates in group activities and educational opportunities as well as enjoying the 180 acres of recreational amenities including swimming, basketball and a state-of-the-art ropes course…
