Saturday Features Several Warrant Arrests In City

On February 11, 2017 Cumberland Police Officers served an arrest warrant on Robert Hobbs. The warrant stemmed from an incident that occurred in late November 2016. On that occasion officers were called to a Baltimore Avenue residence for a report of an assault. Officers interviewed the victim who stated Robert Hobbs assaulted her and her young daughter. Officers observed visible injuries to the victim. Robert Hobbs had already left the area. After the investigation Officers filed charges on Hobbs. Hobbs was placed under arrest and transported to the Cumberland Police Department where he was processed. He was then taken to the Allegany County District Court Commissioner’s office for his initial appearance. Hobbs was held on $20,000 bond pending trial in Allegany County District Court.

Assault: Second Degree (2 counts)

Warrant Arrests

On February 11, 2017 Cumberland Police Officers served a criminal warrant on the following subjects:

Arrested: Rachel Bennett, age 28, Bedford, PA
Charges: Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear. She was released on her own recognizance.

Arrested: Nathan Herrell, age 34, Cumberland, MD
Charges: Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear. He was held without bond.

Arrested: Christopher S. Cook, age 20, Cumberland, MD
Charges: Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear. He was held on $3,500 bond.
