School Board Member To Hold Second Town Hall Meeting

February 10th, 2016 by WCBC Radio

Allegany County Board of Education member Wayne Foote will hold a town hall meeting on the state of education in the county on Feb. 25. The Cumberland Times News reports

Foote, who promised periodic constituent meetings during his 2014 campaign, will conduct the meeting at the Mount Savage United Methodist Church from 7 to 9 p.m.

"It's open to the public. I encourage teachers, students, parents and anyone interested in education to attend," said Foote.

Thoughts and suggestions coming from the meeting will be forwarded to David Cox, superintendent of schools, and other school board members.

Foote is an advocate of consolidating Allegany and Fort Hill high schools, including sending some portion of the students to Mountain Ridge High School. He is also concerned over "low morale" among the teaching staff, he said.
