It’s been more than a year since Lorelee Farrell, now a member of the Allegany County Board of Education, filed a lawsuit against the school board and while there has been nothing reported on the case in sometime- it is still an active case. The civil lawsuit, brought against the school board May 18 of 2016, is for alleged wrongful termination of employment surrounding Farrell and her husband Robert Farrell's separation of employment from the school system. When the lawsuit was originally filed, Lorelee was a candidate for the school board and has since been elected to the board- creating somewhat of an awkward situation. Both Lorelee and Robert Farrell have told WCBC News there isn’t much they can comment on regarding the litigation other than they are represented by attorney (Gorman) Mike Getty and the case will be tried in federal court.
