There have been times during the past few years where it seemed as though the proposed new Allegany High School was close to failing as securing funding for the project has proven challenging; however, actual construction could get underway by the end of this month. The ground breaking for the new $51 million school on Haystack Mountain is scheduled for Monday, May 23rd. Filling in for director of facilities Vince Montana, the school board’s finance officer Randy Bittinger provided a brief update on the project during this week’s work session…
