School Bus Driver Medical Emergency Causes Delay. No Students Injured

On March 25, 2019 at approximately 2:51 pm the Cumberland Police Department responded to Greenway Avenue for a single motor vehicle crash involving a school bus. Upon investigation it was learned the driver had suffered from an unrelated, non-life threatening, medical emergency and was transported to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center for treatment by the Cumberland Fire Department. 

At the time of the crash the bus was occupied by four high school students, which were evaluated by the Cumberland Fire Department. None of the students were injured as a result of the crash. Representatives from the Allegany County Board of Education responded and coordinated alternative transportation for the students.
