School Security Plan To Be Presented To The Public This Week

July 1st, 2013 by WCBC Radio

The long awaited enhanced school security plan will be presented to the public this week according to Allegany County Sheriff Craig Robertson. The Board of Education made an initial request to the county commissioners for additional funding for school security in February- shortly after the tragic school shootings in Connecticut. The board had requested approximately $500,000 for a plan developed by the superintendent and school security personnel. The commissioners set aside $190,000 for security and appointed a committee headed by the sheriff and County Security Chief Bobby Dick. The committee, according to Sheriff Robertson has finally completed its work and is putting the finishing touches on the report. The hope is to present it to the public this week- probably at Allegany College of Maryland…
