The Allegany County Public School System holds an annual fundraiser to benefit Toys for Happiness in which staff can give a donation of money or toys to wear denim and/or holiday attire. After all contributions were collected, the school system was successful in raising a total of $3,357.63 and 180 toys to benefit local area children in need.
Included in this total was a donation from the school system's central office of $154.63, which was collected from staff at a holiday luncheon on December 21st. Attendees were asked to vote on a comical video of Superintendent of Schools, Dr. David Cox, and members of his senior staff dressed as Christmas elves.
