Next Monday is the the first day of the new school year in Allegany County- and now might be a good time to start preparing your kids for what can sometimes be the difficult transition between summer vacation and the day to day school schedule. Beth Kobett, education professor at Stevenson University, says there are any number of steps parents can take to ease the transition from summer to school for elementary and middle-school aged students. Her first suggestion is to make a transition plan together as a family ahead of time.
