State Senator George Edwards tells WCBC News that he expects delegates elect Mike McKay and Jason Buckel to make a smooth transition for the District One delegation- which is losing longtime incumbent Kevin Kelly and 12 year delegate Leroy Myers. Kelly, a democrat who has held the 1B seat for 24 of the past 28 years, was defeated in last weeks election by republican Jason Buckel; while Myers opted not to seek another term in Annapolis- with that seat won by republican Mike McKay. With rural Maryland already facing a daunting task having its voice heard in Annapolis- Edwards was asked if having the local delegation replace two incumbents with freshman, minority party representatives makes that challenge even greater….
