Maryland State Senator George Edwards is meeting in Annapolis today with democrat Senate President Mike Miller to present his Rural Maryland Economic Development initiative. Edwards, a republican, told local business leaders in Cumberland Tuesday he is optimistic rural Maryland may have more of a voice under the administration of Larry Hogan, who ran strong in rural counties across the state. Edwards offered few specifics saying that he wanted to wait until he met with Senator Miller before going public with the details. He did say there are two major focal points, one impacting an existing program that deals with state owned properties; and one new program centering on stimulating economic development in the region…
