Yesterday afternoon , Wednesday, November 14, a vehicle was observed by a parent at Northeast Elementary School. Inside the vehicle, a male appeared to be taking photographs of students on the playground. The parent immediately notified school personnel and was able to give them a physical description of the man, a description of the vehicle, and the vehicle’s license plate number. School and system administrators notified law enforcement, who determined that the vehicle observed is owned by a registered sex offender. As a precaution, Northeast notified parents of the incident via School Messenger and asked that they be extra vigilant in their care of children. School officials continue to work with law enforcement to assess any potential threats. In the meantime, the school system is asking parents and the community for heightened watchfulness in an effort to keep students safe. This vehicle was seen at one of our elementary schools yesterday afternoon. The driver was thought to be taking pictures of children on the playground. If you see this vehicle or any suspicious vehicle around your school please notify Law enforcement immediately. This subject possibly has some ties to this area.
