SHA Already Eclipsed Typical Winter Treatment Spending

The Maryland State Highway Administration has already spent $80 million for snow and ice removal during the current winter season.  SHA’s Dave Buck says a typical season takes $70 million to treat the roads…





Buck says the General Assembly has agreed to increase the budget by $5 million a year until it gets to the amount that would represent an average winter and there is no danger the department would stop plowing due to a lack of funds.
