Shade Points to Census as Crucial for Funding

The members of Maryland’s congressional delegation this week hosted a discussion with U.S. Census Bureau experts to explore Maryland’s readiness for the 2020 count. Efforts are underway locally to prepare to recruit participants to ensure as accurate a count as possible. Allegany County Commissioners President Jake Shade said that the Census isn’t just a tally of the number of people in the county-  it helps determine federal investments critical to every community in the  state – from funding for infrastructure projects to education and public health initiatives to natural disaster response…

    Many of us won’t participate. You’ll have to send in the sheriff to force me to participate. You and Nancy Pelosi can learn how to deal with low participation.

      It’s the people who will hurt the most from a lack of investment, that won’t participate in the Census in the first place. Case in point, above…
