Sheriff Announces Town Hall Meeting Schedule To Discuss Heroin Problem

Allegany County Sheriff Craig A. Robertson has announced the schedule for a series of town hall meetings concerning the heroin and opioid problem throughout the region.

• March 15, at the Oldtown Volunteer Fire Department.

• March 21, at the Ali Ghan Shrine Club. 

• March 22, Flintstone Volunteer Fire Department.

• March 28, Washington Middle School.

• March 29, Lonaconing Armory.

• April 4, Braddock Middle School.

All events start at 6 p.m.

"These town hall began as a way to educate our high school health class students," said the sheriff. "This instruction is designed to hopefully reach our kids before they ever become involved in opioids and heroin."

Along with Robertson, the meetings include Chris Delaney and Rebecca Meyers of the Allegany County Health Department.

Robertson said between high schools and community town halls, officials have reached nearly 1,000 people.
