Sheriff Holding Meetings For Citizens To Discuss New ATV Permitting Process

Allegany County Sheriff Craig Robertson is continuing to hold meetings for citizens in outlying areas to discuss the new ATV permitting process. Under legislation passed in the Maryland General Assembly, owners of ATVs are now required to register them by paying a $25 annual fee. ATV owners can register and pay online at www.gov.allconet.org or at the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office on Kelly Road.   The new registration process includes a sticker for the ATV.  County Commissioner Creade Brodie Jr. said that the new system allows law enforcement to better track individuals who are breaking established rules for operating ATVs noting that  officers previously had no way to track offenders…
