Telephone scams have been around for decades, but the latest onslaught has Allegany County Sheriff Craig Robertson concerned for local residents, especially the elderly.
Sheriff Robertson says the scammers have taken to threatening putting people in jail, or turning off vital services, and have also found ways of manipulating the Caller Identification technology to make it seem like they are calling from law enforcement, or other government agencies…
