Sheriff’s Department Helping Cover City in Absences Due to Baltimore Riots

Before the crack of dawn Tuesday morning, six officers from the Cumberland Police Department were deployed to Baltimore to help restore order in the riot-torn city. Governor Larry Hogan declared a state of emergency Monday night and the Maryland National Guard was dispatched to Baltimore.  Early Tuesday afternoon, Allegany County Sheriff Craig Robertson said his department is working with the Cumberland Police Department to make sure this area remained adequately covered during the next few days…
