Sunday evening at 6:45 PM,  Allegany County Sheriff's Deputy Grimm responded to east bound Interstate 68 just east of exit 40 for a jack knifed tractor trailer.

When he arrived he met with Mr. Omar Adam Shabeel DOB 8/1/1986. Mr. Shabeel stated that the breaks on the truck over heated coming down Dans Mountain. When Mr. Shabeel realized something was wrong he pulled to the side of Interstate 68 on the side of Hay Stack Mountain. When Mr. Shabeel stopped he realized the vehicle was drifting backwards and he couldn’t stop it due to the breaks being over heated. Mr. Shabeel drifted backward for about one hundred feet when he decided it would be safer to jack knife the vehicle before he injured other motorists. Mr. Shabeel was able to safely jack knife the vehicle with minimum damage to property. 

No injuries were reported.
