Sheriff’s Deputy Makes Bench Warrant Arrest

On 4/30/15 @ approx. 1815 hrs. while attempting to serve a protective order, a Deputy with the Allegany County Sheriff's Office observed a subject walking on Virginia Ave. who he recognized as being wanted by the Cumberland City Police.  After confirming the bench warrants were still active, Cassandra Kay Porter (33 years old, Cumberland) was taken into custody without incident.  A quantity of suspected CDS was located during a search incident to arrest.

     The three bench warrants were for failing to appear on (1) traffic charges, (2) trespassing charges and (3) CDS charges.  PORTER was taken before a D. Court Commissioner for her initial appearance, ordered held on $5,000 and transported to the Allegany County Detention Center to await her next Court appearance.

     Charges for the suspected CDS recovered are pending.
