On 02.13.2016 at approximately 8pm Deputies of the Allegany County Sheriff"s Office assisted by the Maryland State Police responded to the area behind the Bowling Green Fire Station for a report of gunshots.
Numerous callers reported hearing gunshots and one caller stated that they observed a person carrying what they believed to be a rifle.
MSP Trooper 5 and a Cumberland City Police K9 were also called to assist.
A short time later deputies located the suspect unarmed. After an interview with family members, the suspect was subsequently transported to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center for an evaluation.
A 12 gauge shotgun was located and seized.
There were no reports of injuries or property damage.
