Officers with the Cumberland Police Dept responded to a business located in the 700blk of Park St in reference to a shoplifting complaint. Upon arrival officers contacted store employees who stated that they observed a female subject conceal several items of value and attempt to leave the store without paying. Employees confronted the subject who was identified as 25 year old Jessica Hanlin of Cumberland and the items were recovered. As a result Hanlin was placed under arrest and issued a Maryland Criminal Citation for Theft Under $100 and released pending trial in District Court.
