Site Acquisition Approved for New Allegany High

Another hurdle has been cleared in plans for a new Allegany High School in Cumberland. The Allegany County Public School System was notified that its official request for the approval of the site acquisition of Western Maryland Health System’s Braddock Campus for use to construct the new Allegany has been approved by the Interagency Committee for Public School Construction (IAC).  Allegany County School Superintendent David Cox says its important for the public to remain patient as the process to see a new school constructed is a lengthy one.
