A Cumberland Times News article this week hinted that there is some uncertainty as to whether a slots license will be awarded for the Rocky Gap Lodge and Resort- however Allegany County Commissioner Bill Valentine says that’s not the case and everything should be wrapped up late next week. The state Video Lottery Facility Location Commission did not issue a license at its March 27 meeting because an agreement between the county and Evitts Resort LLC on a payment in lieu of taxes hasn’t been worked out. Valentine tells WCBC News that the deal- which is the final hurdle prior to the license being awarded- will be finalized by next week’s business meeting of the Commissioners…
