By authority of the Maryland State Police, Cumberland Barrack, the Snow Emergency Plan for Allegany County will be placed into effect.
This action was taken because of hazardous driving conditions caused by snow and/or ice covered roads.
When the “Plan” is in effect, all vehicles operating on designated Snow Emergency Routes must have chains, snow tires, or all-season radial tires. Any vehicle parked on a Snow Emergency Route when the “Plan” is in effect is subject to being towed, and the owner may be fined.
