On Sunday, October 26, 2014 at approximately 4:50 a.m., the Cumberland Police Department and the Cumberland Fire Department responded to E. Offutt Street and Candoc Lane in reference to three small fires.  One fire was confined to a wooden trash can located at the Cumberland Police Department’s outdoor firing range located down in the Eugene Mason Sports Complex off of Offutt Street.  The trash can was completely destroyed.  The two other fires were in the wooded area along Candoc Lane.  This wooded area is between Candoc Lane and the Eugene Mason Sports Complex.  These fires looked as though they were burning for sometime due to the size of the fires.  The Cumberland Fire Department was able to extinguish all fires.  The fires were found by a newspaper delivery person in the area.  Anyone with information about these fires is asked to call the Cumberland Police Department at 301-777-1600 anonymous callers can also call Crime Solvers at 301-722-4300.
