South Cumberland Library Looking At Summer Re-Opening

 Interior demolition of the South Cumberland Library is complete and officials are looking at a summer re-opening. The facility’s new look is starting to take shape according to Library Director John Taube who notes that on the Seymour Street side, space is being created for  the new community living room by putting in a huge window. The library closed May 31 for a $1.8 million renovation project that’s being paid for with a combination of state and county funds. Work by Harbel Inc. of Cumberland began in July. During the most recent meeting of the Allegany County Commissioners, action was taken awarding a bid for more than $53,000 for new furniture and shelving. County Engineer Adam Paterson…
