South End Fall Fest 2012, will be held on October 6th on Virginia Avenue from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. Sponsored by Cahoots, located at 249 Virginia Avenue, and the South Cumberland Business and Civic Association (SCBCA) – this event is free and open to the public.
The event will close Virginia Avenue to automobile traffic from Second to Third Street from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in order to allow set-up/break down for vendors, as well as giving pedestrians the opportunity to enjoy the entertainment, craft and food vendors, and activities without the worry of any vehicular traffic.
Fall Fest will showcase ‘Hot Sauce Willie’ on the main stage performing a mix of Blues, R&B, and Rock. Other entertainment for the event includes DJ Music from 7-10 at Bealls & Whistles, DJ Music at Cahoots from 9:30 – 1:30, and the band ‘Heart Gravy’ will be playing at Bealls & Whistles from 10 a.m. until 1 a.m.
Craft, food and local vendors will set up, along with a magician, and children activities to include a moon bounce, big glove boxing, and more. Some neighborhood businesses will offer promotions in conjunction with the event. Various on- and off-street parking options will be available on Virginia Avenue and throughout the neighborhood.
Many organizations, local businesses and residents have partnered to make this event possible including the City of Cumberland’s Police, Streets, Maintenance, Fire, Parks & Recreation, and Economic Development Departments, the Downtown Cumberland Manager’s office, Bealls and Whistles and The Cumberland Keep. Thanks so much for advertising South End Fall Fest on your webpage. You are awesome! I’ll be sure to announce this at the SCBCA dinner/meeting on October 10, and to ask that all support your station.
