The Allegany County Animal Shelter has been awarded $42,261.05 in grant funding from the Maryland Department of Agriculture’s Spay/Neuter Grant program.
The project, developed and submitted by the ACAC Management Foundation, is titled “Keeping Cumberland Litter Free”. It will provide free spay/neuter surgeries and rabies vaccinations for resident-owned cats and dogs in the City of Cumberland.
The award will also provide funding for spay/neuter clinic equipment needed for the local shelter’s upcoming Veterinary Clinic renovation project. The Shelter Foundation recently advertised for sealed bids on Phase I of their capital campaign project, which includes the veterinary clinic and site prep for both dog and cat adoption centers.
