Speeding Stop Leads To Marijuana Bust

On Saturday, January 17, 2015 at approximately 1:00 p.m., a Cumberland Police Officer was operating Radar on Braddock Road when he conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a speeding violation.  The officer contacted the operator and the front seat passenger and while speaking with them the officer observed the passenger to be acting in a nervous manner.  The officer asked if there was anything illegal in the vehicle and the passenger, Demetri Zupancic Cendo admitted that he had some Marijuana in his pocket.  The officer requested that Cendo step from the vehicle and during a search two glass smoking devices were located.

Cendo was placed under arrest for possessing the drug paraphernalia and transported to Police Headquarters for processing.  Cendo was then issued a criminal citation for possession of the drug paraphernalia (glass pipes), and a civil citation for possession of less than ten grams of Marijuana.

Demetri Zupancic Cendo – age 18 – Cumberland, MD

Charges:

Possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of Marijuana less than ten grams.
