January 30th, 2015 by WCBC Radio

A 19 year old from Baltimore is lodged in the Garrett County Detention Center, charged with stabbing two females at Garrett College late yesterday afternoon.

Shamaine N. Moore, of Baltimore, has been charged with attempted second degree murder, first and second degree assault, and reckless endangerment.

Officials have identified the victims as Daniqua N. Harrington, 20, of Washington, DC, and Chandel J. Alexander, of Baltimore. Alexander was treated and later released from the hospital, while Harrington was still being treated at last report. The accused also received treatment for a laceration before being booked on the charges.

All three are students at the college, and a knife believed to be involved in the incident was recovered in the Laker Cafe, where the victims were also found. Early indications are that is where an argument escalated, during which Moore allegedly pulled the knife and stabbed the victims.

The knife has been forwarded to the Maryland State Police forensics division to see if it can be scientifically tied to the incident. The investigation by state, local and college authorities continues.
