State Board Supports Single Sex Classrooms in West Virginia

The West Virginia Board of Education supports single-sex classrooms despite recent criticism from the American Civil Liberties Union.  In August, a federal judge halted a Wood County middle school's separation of students by gender after a parent teamed up with the ACLU to sue the school system. The lawsuit claims segregated classrooms violate the U.S. Constitution and federal gender equality laws
