State Highway Crews Working Through Wednesday with Road Conditions

It began in the early morning hours of Wednesday- and by daybreak heavy snow had blanketed Western Maryland closing schools and businesses and making travel extremely hazardous. More than ten inches accumulated in some parts of the region- with the snow followed by freezing rain late Wednesday afternoon creating difficult road conditions. State Highway Administration spokesman Charlie Gischlar said state road crews were out in force plowing and treating roadways starting late Wednesday. Temperatures began to rise overnight Wednesday into this morning-  and with a forecast of  50 degrees this afternoon- the next issue could be flash flooding and downed trees…
