State Officials Monitoring Delfest Success And What It Means To The State

Following the most successful "Delfest" yet, Allegany County Commissioner Bill Valentine says he would like to see the state of Maryland begin to show some appreciation for the bluegrass legend who has helped put Allegany County on the map. The annual bluegrass festival held at the county fairgrounds each of the last seven years is headlined by Del McCoury who began his career playing small venues in Pennsylvania and Maryland. The yearly event is now viewed as one of the premier music festivals of its kind in the nation. Valentine says he was encouraged to learn that state economic development officials are monitoring its success and what it means to the state…
