State Police, Boy Scouts join for program

The Maryland State Police, Cumberland Barrack, in cooperation with the Boy Scouts of America, will be starting an Explorer Post for local youth. This program is designed to introduce young men and women to the world of law enforcement. The explorer post program will specialize in a variety of career skills associated with law enforcement activities with an emphasis on career opportunities, life skills, service learning, character education, and leadership experience. The Cumberland Barrack will provide members with experienced, well trained advisors from within our ranks. Interested persons between the ages of 14-21 years old are encouraged to attend an initial orientation/sign-up on October 30, 2012 at 7:00 P.M. The meeting will be held at the Cumberland Barrack of the Maryland State Police, located at 1125 National Highway, Lavale, Maryland. We will promote FAIRNESS, INTEGRITY, and SERVICE – the core values of the Maryland State Police.
