Citing weak sales during the holiday shopping season and through January, and sales tax revenues that fell below projections, Maryland's Board of Revenue Estimates has written down the state's revenue estimates by $51.4-million. The three member board chaired by Comptroller Peter Franchot, and including Treasurer Nancy Kopp and Budget Secretary David Brinkley unanimously approved the report in a meeting on Wednesday.
