Maryland State Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Lillian Lowery, will tour several schools in Western Maryland on Wednesday, March 18, 2015, to view the cutting edge educational practices taking place, with a special emphasis on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math). Both Allegany and Garrett Counties have developed STEM programs that are designed to strengthen workforce and economic development. Dr. Lowery will visit the GEARS Building in Garrett County at 10:45 a.m. and Allegany High School in Allegany County at 1:15 p.m.
