On August 28th, Project Hope will be held at Canal Place.
Project Hope will target Middle School and older students by trying to educate them about the dangers of drugs. The guest speaker will be Daryl Strawberry, a former professional baseball player with the New York Mets and Yankees, who participated in 4 World Series. Drugs plagued his life to where he lost it all. Mr. Strawberry will talk about his life story and how drugs destroyed his dreams.
Project Hope is looking for donations to bring this event before our children. The Cumberland YMCA is acting as the fiscal agent for Project Hope.
Organizers are also challenging local coaches to bring their teams to this event.
